Introduction to Mythology! We will begin with the Greeks. Then, we will study the Egyptians, Native Americans, the Celts and, finally, Arthurian Legend. This unit not only analyzes the cultures of each group but examines what a myth is and the universal qualities of mythology.
Find a list of the most important Greek gods on page 1068 of your textbook.
Myths explored- "Arachne", "Persephone", and "Prometheus"
Questions to explore- How are the gods characterized? How do the myths explain nature?
Homework- Read "Prometheus and the First People" (1066-) in your textbooks.
